… and working on Byram, my #4 in the Hustlers series… Up till now I wasn’t that happy with the general look of him, and then I realized: he needed better glasses! So I tweaked them accordingly, and shazaaam! I like him a lot better now :)
Before and after:
And here’s a view of the whole thing, sitting on my desk:
That’s it for today, gotta get back to work - and to an ominous cake I have to make for my beloved nephew’s birthday —> please include me in any prayer and shit… and be well, sweet folks.
and a detail:
Finally done! Gotta say I’m really happy with the 3D effect I got on this one. And because of the size, it really feels like a human presence, which I love, and which is, I guess, the main reason why I don’t usually have backgrounds behind my portraits. Feels more like you’re looking at a real “somebody”, less like an illusion… Anyway, behold… a fella:
my-utopian-epitaph asked: Is there anyway I can purchase your art? It's beautiful! <3
Sure you can, just send me a message at yourejealous(at)gmail(dot)com, or through my Facebook page: www.facebook.com/Eightpussee
… and REALLY happy I have started on this new drawing! I needed the fresh air…
Here’s the little monster:
and then closer:
And another detail:
It’s a good thing that it’s kind of done, cause I seriously can’t stand looking at it anymore…
#1 Same Shit Different Day (Julie)
(one of my now infamous cellphone shots)
And a detail:
Girl is much bigger than my usual format… I should pose next to her to give you an idea… with a wig on.
So! Done it is, the portrait of my dear fella John Cebollero, posing as a virtual heart for sale for my series about online dating. Here:
Happy I finally did it, as John is an awesome artist, and a great guy too…
… still in progress:
… and much bigger than what I do normally.
Started a portrait of my dear fella the awesome NY artist John Cebollero, and it’s going along nice and smooth… here’s a progress shot:
Hey dear people, hope you’re doing real good… Posting these lovelies as I can feel I won’t be working on them anymore, not cause they’re done, but because they took too much time to process - we’re talking about almost two years here - and so the excitement had more than enough time to dampen. I’ve tried a new brand of oils pastels on them this morning - never used pastels over oil paint before, and though it seems to have limited use, some of that use is quite awesome… Here they are, as they will remain:
As you might notice, the arm on the right isn’t finished. At all. It shows even more on this picture in context featuring the ever exquisite -zilla:
Still, I loved working on them, and what I’ve discovered with the pastels today is really exciting. Hope you guys are having a similarly nice day… or anything cool in any way.
AKA Rohypnol… Feels kind of nice to go back to this series, namely the Booked Girls - see here and in my archives to the right for more about them. Had been a long time, and I’ve missed it.
… cause I LOVE stuff to be centralized and all that…
And to finish it off, a self portrait in progress, and that’s no wonder as I’m using oil paint on that one (which take forever and more to dry up)
… that’s what this here painting is:
There’s one more character on the left. I don’t really know why it’s taking so long: it’s been more than a year since I started it. Fortunately I still like it a lot, so there is some hope I’ll finish it one day…
OK, she’s done. Second portrait in the series about online dating, and I still don’t have a name for those… Featuring the ever lovely Zographia, who’s actually mighty pretty - I’m just good at finding people’s dirty bits ♡
